I missed last week, but here is the next weekly wishes.Started by The Nectar Collective, this acts as a way to share goals with fellow bloggers, and hopefully, for me, provide more incentive to accomplish them!
Here were Week 1’s goals:
1.) Outline the rest of my book. My writing is hitting a low point, mainly because I am a bit wary about proceeding. I’m excited about what’s coming next, but I don’t have much of a plan and the plan I came up with at the start of this journey won’t really work anymore since my characters have turned out a bit differently than I had planned – but all in a good way I hope. – I did accomplish this! I spent an afternoon at Starbucks with my notebook and just brainstormed.
2.) Get to at least 53,000 words in this last week of Camp NaNoWriMo. My goal was 60,000, which I have no aspirations about hitting any longer. But as I am just shy of 50,000 I think I can manage it a bit more before time runs out. – This was not accomplished. Id you read my Camp NaNo summary you know what happened. I have been making steady progress since camp ended though so I am not discouraged!
3.) Make an awesome cake for the Harry Potter birthday party my two friends and I are having Thursday. Yes, it’s super nerdy of us, but really it’s just an excuse for us to get together and drink on a weeknight and talk about books. And one of them is getting back from spending her summer on the mainland, so it will be great to see her again, and there will be cake! Here is what I am attempting, Treacle Tart just seemed too laborious, and not conclusive to Hawaii humidity and heat levels. – I certainly achieved this! I should have taken a picture because it was adorable, and delicious. In fact, Friday after stumbling home from a neighbors party my husband, myself, and a friend of ours then proceeded to eat the remaining half of it while watching “The Mighty Ducks” on Netflix – it was a fun night.
Goals for this week:
1.) I really need to run more than once a week. I have been going Monday’s regularly, but when Wednesday comes around it just doesn’t happen. Hopefully now that I am making myself accountable to all of you it will help my lack of motivation come hump day.
2.) Hit 57,000 with my WIP. I am averaging about 500 words per day Monday-Thursday, so if I get some writing done on Friday it should be pretty doable.
3.) Finish my DIY revamps of our bed side tables – as we upgrade out furniture they don’t really match anymore. I am taking the black Target tables and painting them a light cream, then using the sticky removable wallpaper, in a yellow print as the inset of the little door and the base of the shelf. I think it will be pretty cute when I am done, and hopefully give them a few more years of life.
Now share your goals!
